The year gone by may not have been very impressive for Sonakshi Sinha, professionally, but the grapevine was abuzz with rumours that she had reasons to rejoice, when it comes to the personal front. Speculation was rife that Sonakshi has found love in another Salman Khan protégé Zaheer Iqbal.
Apparently, it was Salman who played Cupid for them. If the reports doing the rounds are anything to go by, Sonakshi and Zaheer hit it off during their very first meeting and have been in a steady relationship since then. In fact, Sonakshi made an entry with Zaheer at Salman Khan's birthday bash at his farmhouse in Panvel.
The actress, however, denied the news vociferously. She emphasised that there was no romance brewing between her and Zaheer.
On the work front, Sonakshi was last seen in Mudassar Aziz's Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, which failed to impress the critics as well as the audience. She is currently busy shooting for Abhishek Varman's period drama Kalank, which is set against the Partition and independence struggle in the 1940s.
Kalank, which also features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles, is slated to open in theatres on April 19 this year.
Zaheer, meanwhile, is all set to make his big screen debut in Notebook, which is being directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Salman under his banner Salman Khan Films. The film will also mark the debut of Mohnish Bahl's daughter Pranutan Bahl. It is expected to release on March 29.
