The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast predominantly chilly and dry conditions for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most regions of Pakistan from Thursday evening through Saturday.
Continental air masses prevail across the nation, contributing to this weather pattern. During this period, residents can expect cold and dry weather in the twin cities and other parts of the country, with the upper regions likely experiencing partly cloudy skies and freezing temperatures.
In terms of temperature, Islamabad is anticipated to see minimum temperatures ranging between 07 and 09 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday, while Rawalpindi is expected to have minimum temperatures between 09 and 11 degrees Celsius during the same period.
In the past 24 hours, rain-thunderstorms and snowfall were observed in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall measurements include significant figures like 40 mm at Muzaffarabad Airport and 35 mm in the city, and snowfall reaching 02 inches in areas such as Kalam and Malam Jabba.
Kalam emerged as the coldest location in the country, with temperatures plummeting to 7 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07 degrees Celsius with a morning relative humidity of 94 percent.
Rawalpindi experienced a minimum temperature of 09 degrees Celsius with a morning relative humidity of 74 percent.
Overall, the weather outlook suggests a continuation of cold and dry conditions, with precipitation primarily observed in certain mountainous areas.
