ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out multiple operations across various cities, arresting 12 suspects in a major crackdown against drug trafficking.
According to ANF, seven separate operations led to the recovery of 416.405 kilograms of narcotics, valued at over Rs. 5.18 million.
At Multan International Airport, 1.2 kilograms of hashish was recovered from the luggage of a passenger bound for Qatar. The suspect was taken into custody.
Near Mandra Toll Plaza, ANF seized 9.6 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle and arrested five suspects. In another major operation near Liaquatpur, Rahim Yar Khan, 400 kilograms of bhang (cannabis) was recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
In Lahore, near the Railway Gate in Kasur, the ANF recovered 3 kilograms of heroin from the possession of two suspects, who were subsequently taken into custody.
In Hayatabad, Peshawar, ANF personnel conducted an operation that led to the recovery of 2 kilograms of "ice" also known as crystal methamphetamine from a motorcycle.
Near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, the ANF carried out an operation involving public transport, resulting in the recovery of 355 grams of ecstasy pills from a passenger. The accused individual was promptly arrested.
During another separate operation also conducted near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, the ANF recovered 250 grams of weed from a passenger traveling on public transport. This individual was also arrested.
An ANF spokesperson confirmed that cases have been registered against all those arrested under the Narcotics Control Act, and detailed investigations are now actively underway.
