Aanvi, a chartered accountant famous for her travel blog @theglocaljournal, was exploring the scenic site with seven friends, according to local media reports. During the video shoot, she slipped and fell around 300 feet into the gorge, a local police official said. Her friends quickly alerted the authorities, leading to an immediate response from the Coast Guard, Kolad rescue team, and Maharashtra State Electricity Board staff.
A rescuer described the difficult conditions they faced: "When we arrived, we found that she had fallen nearly 300-350 feet. The heavy rain and her injuries made the extraction very challenging, requiring a vertical pulley system."
The rescue operation, complicated by continuous rockfall, lasted six hours. Despite their best efforts, Aanvi succumbed to her severe injuries at a nearby hospital, the police confirmed.
In response to this heartbreaking incident, authorities have issued a warning, urging tourists to be extremely cautious when visiting waterfalls during the monsoon season.
