Talking about him, Shagufta Ejaz said, "I felt honored working with Shafi Muhammad Shah Sahab. He was a very nice person, and we shared great camaraderie on set. I used to do his makeup, and he would become my model. He never refused any activity we wanted to do with him; he was such a darling and a genuinely nice human being. I had no idea that he was sick. I saw him during a shoot, and he had lost so much weight. I was about to call him to invite him to my salon opening when he called me right before his death. I said to him, ‘I was about to call you,’ to which he replied, ‘It’s okay, I called because my wife doesn’t mind if I call you, because she likes you so much."
