Resham expresses deep distress over recent domestic violence cases, urges authorities to take action

Resham, one of Pakistan's biggest film stars, has done remarkable work in both films and television, preferring roles with substantial depth. As a philanthropist, she frequently distributes food to the needy, personally cooking the Niyaz. During Muharram, she made a special appeal.

Recently, the case of domestic violence and the murder of a 20-year-old young mother Sania Zehra shocked everyone. The ambiguities surrounding the case highlight the systemic suppression of women and the frequent failure of justice in such incidents. Sania's tragic death has left behind two toddlers.

Resham shared that “she has been very disturbed for the last few days after she heard about the case of Sania. She appealed to the government to provide justice. The videos and pictures she has seen have broken her. She said that she cannot understand how someone can be this cruel.”
