PPP calls applications for Senate by-elections

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has initiated a call for applications from individuals aspiring for party tickets to fill the vacant seats in the Senate of Pakistan.

In a statement released by the Secretary-General of PPP, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, it was highlighted that a limited number of Senate seats are currently unoccupied.

Bukhari emphasized, "The PPP is extending an invitation to those interested in securing party tickets for these vacant Senate seats. Applications must be submitted by March 3."

Applicants were directed by Syed Nayyer Hussain Bukhari to address their submissions to the PPP president. Furthermore, Bukhari stated, "A bank draft of Rs. 100,000 made out in the party’s name should be enclosed with the applications, which are to be dispatched to either Bilawal House Karachi or Zardari House Islamabad by March 3."

Earlier in the day, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) unveiled the schedule for the forthcoming Senate by-election to fill six vacant general seats. According to the schedule, the elections are scheduled for March 14, to be conducted at various assemblies.

Nomination papers for the vacant Senate seats can be submitted until March 3. Scrutiny of these nomination papers is slated for March 5, culminating in the finalization of the list of eligible candidates vying for the esteemed Senate positions. Candidates will have until March 10 to withdraw their nomination papers.
