LODHRAN: Maryam Khan, Commissioner of Multan Division, inaugurated a cleanliness drive in collaboration with Daewoo Express as part of a public-private partnership initiative.
The drive aligns with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision of a "Suthra Punjab" and aims to enhance sanitation efforts in Lodhran district.
The operation extends to both urban and rural areas, with the Multan Waste Management Company joining forces with Daewoo Express, Ghulam Sons, and Waste Busters in a joint venture.
At the inauguration ceremony, a ribbon-cutting event was held, followed by a special prayer. Commissioner Maryam Khan also inspected the dumping site near the railway station. She was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Syed Waseem Hassan, ADCG Muhammad Asad Ali, Assistant Commissioner Iram Shehzadi, and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Multan Maryam Khan emphasized that urban areas would benefit from daily door-to-door campaigns, while rural areas would have sanitation operations every alternate day.
Daewoo Divisional Head, Muhammad Usman, highlighted plans to enhance the operation’s efficiency by acquiring additional machinery and increasing the workforce to 750 personnel.
This initiative marks a significant step toward a cleaner and healthier environment for the residents of Lodhran.
