Lahore: In a decisive move to restore confidence and enhance team morale, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has cleared all outstanding financial obligations to players, officials, and staff, ahead of crucial international competitions.

The federation has fully disbursed pending daily allowances and dues for athletes across the senior, junior, and under-18 national teams, along with coaching personnel and PHF employees. Additionally, players selected for the junior team’s upcoming tour to Malaysia for the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup have received advance payments an effort to ensure they remain mentally and financially focused.

PHF President Tariq Bugti confirmed the development, stating, “Addressing financial matters was treated as a top priority. All payments have now been processed and transferred to the respective accounts.”

He noted that minor delays may occur for recipients who do not maintain accounts with Habib Bank Limited (HBL), due to standard inter-bank processing times.

This financial settlement follows recent public complaints, including from the team captain, over delayed dues during the Nations Cup. The issue gained traction across social media and was highlighted in the press, prompting swift intervention by the federation.

Bugti expressed optimism that the resolution would translate into stronger on-field performances. “With financial concerns behind them, the players can now commit their full energy and focus to delivering results,” he added.

This move reflects the PHF’s renewed commitment to professional standards, financial accountability, and player welfare an essential step in rebuilding trust and stability within Pakistan’s national hockey setup.
