ISLAMABAD: Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the by-election schedule in NA-175 (Muzaffargarh-1)constituency vacated by Jamshed Dasti.
The development follows the ECP’s earlier decision declaring Jamshed Dasti disqualified after his academic credentials were found to be fake.
As a result, his National Assembly seat was declared vacant. The ECP has not yet announced a revised schedule for the by-poll.
However, the Election Commission has now suspended the by -election schedule for Jamshed Dasti's vacant seat. The election suspension was decided after the Lahore High Court decision.
The Election Commission declared that the election program of NA -175 in Muzaffargarh will remain suspended till the court order.
