After the launch of the Orange Line train and electric buses, electric trams are now being introduced in Lahore.
The first electric tram has arrived from China and will start running on Canal Road.
Punjab government sources say that after the Metro Bus, Orange Line, and electric buses, trams will now be seen running through Lahore.
This Chinese-imported tram has three compartments and runs completely on electricity.
With just 10 minutes of charging, it can travel 25 to 27 kilometers and carry up to 250 passengers.
The tram is being assembled at the Ali Town Depot and will be tested as a pilot project in its first phase.
