Alibaba, the global business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce giant, has officially launched its Trade Assurance service in Pakistan to support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The announcement was made during the 2025 Alibaba.com Pakistan Supplier Export Summit held in Sialkot, an industrial hub known for its production excellence.

Ikram Ul Haq, President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the city’s industrial significance at the event. He stated, “Alibaba.com’s decision to hold the Pakistan Supplier Export Summit in Sialkot underscores the city’s industrial importance and potential.”

“This event has brought immense value to our local businesses by connecting them with global opportunities and introducing the tools needed to succeed in international markets,” he noted.

“Pakistan represents a high-potential supplier market for Alibaba.com, boasting robust production capabilities and a diverse range of product categories that capture substantial global buyer interest.” Head of Southeast Asia at Alibaba.com Roger Luo, said.

Alibaba also shared insights on the growing global apparel market, projected to reach $1.79 trillion by 2024, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.81% between 2024 and 2028.

The launch of Trade Assurance marks a milestone for Pakistan, placing it among a select group of markets where Alibaba has introduced this service. The platform aims to build trust and confidence among Pakistani suppliers by offering tools to compete in international markets.

This development is expected to further empower local SMEs, boosting their global reach and enhancing Pakistan’s presence in the international trade arena.
