According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday, a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred in unprovoked firing from Indian troops on the Line of Control (LoC).

Sepoy Zaheer Ahmed was martyred in the Thub sector of the LoC. He belonged to village Sultan Pur in Bhimber district and has left a widow.

The military’s media wing added that Pakistan Army troops “retaliated effectively and engaged enemy’s posts involved in the unprovoked firing.”

Pakistan has repeatedly condemned growing ceasefire violations by Indian forces due to which several civilians have lost their lives in cross-border skirmishes.
