PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi is positive about his party’s chances to form a government in the Punjab Assembly with the help of PML-Q and other independent MPAs.
“We have left PML-N behind in Punjab in the numbers game,” he said at a press conference in Islamabad on Monday.
He welcomed the opposition parties’ decision to take oath. “You can’t have double standards that if you have seats in Sindh or Punjab you are content with the results but overall the results are incorrect,” he said. “This is not possible. Therefore, I think that the decision is right.”
He urged the people of Pakistan to support the party. “We have to move forward now, he said. “The people of Pakistan have given a major verdict in the election. They have accepted the vision of Imran Khan regarding a new Pakistan. I just want to tell the people of Pakistan that we want to take this vision of a new Pakistan forward.”
Qureshi thanked the international community for its support to the PTI. “It has elevated our hopes,” he said. “You have witnessed stability in the stock market after the election. You saw how the value of the rupee was falling. Now, it has not become stable but has bounced back. These are all positive indicators.”
