The increase of Petroleum prices by the interim government has been challenged in Lahore High Court.
As per the details, Azhar Siddique from Judicial Activism Panel filed a petition against the price hike of petroleum products.
Nominating ministry of petroleum and OGRA as parties, the petition stated that the interim government does not have a right to change the prices of petroleum.
Furthermore, the petition also states that the Supreme Court has taken the suo motu earlier, till the decision comes, increasing prices before it is unjust for the public.
Also, the petition says that the prices were increased in accordance with the global market, which will engulf public with inflation.
In the petition, it is requested that the decision to increase petroleum prices should be nullified.
