Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that pre-monsoon rains will begin on Saturday across the country.
According to PMD Director General, Arif Mehmood, light intensity pre-monsoon rains are likely in eastern parts of the country on Saturday, with the normal monsoon period is likely to start from the first week of July. The overall monsoon rains, according to the analysis, across the country will be 10 percent below normal.
However, 10 percent above normal rains are expected in the upper parts of the country during this monsoon season, therefore, the chances of flash flooding cannot be ruled out. The depression lies over the Arabian Sea is likely to end during the next 24 hours.
Mostly dry weather is expected in most parts including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next few days while light rain is expected in Kashmir and adjoining areas during the next 24 hours.
