Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that the acrimony in politics will dwindle but the process of accountability will continue without letup.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had inherited ‘financially empty institutions’ from inside when it assumed power last month.
“The government of Prime Minister Imran Khan does not have personal enmity with anyone, but there will be no compromise on the process of accountability,” he said.
The minister said that Steel mills and PIA, in addition to other institutions, have been destroyed, adding that “when institutions go down, the country goes down.”
The minister said that bitterness had encircled the country in the past few decades.
