ISLAMABAD: A Saudi trade delegation will arrive in Pakistan on Monday (tomorrow) to explore investment opportunities related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other sectors.

The delegation’s arrival is a follow-up to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Riyadh in April.

During the trip, the prime minister said the two countries were working on exploring new areas of cooperation, with a particular focus on promoting economic, trade and investment ties.

The delegation will start its meetings in Islamabad from where they will travel to Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi.

“According to the plan they will meet with business community, CPEC related officials and two ministers on Monday at Serena hotel between 4 to 6 pm,” the Saudi embassy said in a statement.

“Delegation will visit Lahore on Tuesday and will meet the chamber of commerce at 12 p.m. and to Punjab board of investment at 3.30 pm. Delegation will visit Faisalabad on Friday and Karachi on Saturday.”

During this visit, important trade agreements will be signed in various sectors and Saudi investors will be briefed regarding the investment potential in Pakistan.

The delegation will visit Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi where very important meetings will be held to promote trade and investment.

The delegation will led by Saudi-Pakistani Business Council chairman Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Bash, and will comprise representatives of 30 Saudi companies.

The delegation will look into investment opportunities in CPEC, construction, energy, sports and tourism promotion,” he said. There are also some companies operating in Information Technology (IT) sector.

The delegation will meet federal ministers, higher officials and other prominent businessmen. The delegation will stay for a week in the country.
