A blast occurred near the convoy of former chief minister Akram Khan Durrani, because of which four people were killed, while 13 were injured.
According to Deputy Police Officer (DPO) Bannu Khurram Rasheed, Akram Khan Durrani was traveling for election campaign when his convoy was targeted by a remote control bomb.
The DPO said that the former CM KPK was safe, while 13 people were injured, which also includes a police officer who was on the duty of providing him security.
However, regarding the matter, the sources said that Akram Khan Durrani was returning from North Waziristan’s area Bannu after the rally, when the incident occurred, the death toll is expected to rise.
After the incident, the rescue workers shifted the injured to the nearest hospitals.
The law enforcement agencies immediately cordoned off and started the search operation.
