Marilyn Monroe, the Hollywood goddess and the greatest icon to ever grace the screen was discovered dead on the night of August 4–5, 1962, at her Brentwood, California, home.

At the time of her passing, she was 36 years old. The most renowned woman of her era was Marilyn Monroe. Her images are still offered for sale as posters and are featured on numerous magazine and newspaper covers sixty years after her passing. The news that Marilyn had killed herself spread swiftly. But she left behind far too many unanswered questions. Researchers have looked into these issues, and we now know that she was killed.

She was at the height of her career and looking forward to even greater accomplishments when she passed away. She had purchased a property, and on the day of her passing, her house was undergoing some renovations by the son-in-law of her housekeeper. She had received a $500,000 offer for a movie, and her lawyer had a million-dollar contract waiting for her to sign.

She had every reason to anticipate a promising future and a career that was still in its infancy. Actress Jeanne Carmen, a close friend and former neighbour of Marilyn’s, recalled that in the start of August of that year, Marilyn was optimistic, grateful for her life, and looking forward to a wonderful future. Why would she kill herself? Marilyn was unmarried at the time of her passing. She had been married four times, each of which had broken up.

Sergeant Jack Clemmons received a call early on Sunday, August 5, alerting him that Marilyn Monroe had passed away. He requested the caller to authenticate his identity because he believed it to be a fraud. I’m Dr. Hyman Engelberg, Marilyn Monroe’s doctor, the caller retorted. I’m at her house. She ended her own life. It was 4:25 AM, Sergeant Clemmons noticed the time. Dr. Hyman Engelberg, the housekeeper, Dr. Ralph Greenson, Marilyn’s psychiatrist, and Clemmons were all present when he arrived to the scene. Dr. Greenson informed Clemmons that Marilyn had killed herself and added, “She took all of these,” while referring to an empty Nembutal container.

It wasn’t too difficult to determine the approximate hour of Marilyn’s passing. Guy Hockett of the Westwood Village Mortuary picked up Marilyn’s body and wheeled it outside sometime between 5:30 and 6:00 AM. He observed that her body had become rigid and that she was not lying flat. The process of straightening the corpse took him and his kid roughly five minutes. To wrap her in straps, the arms had to be straightened up as well. Guy Hockett calculated that Marilyn had passed away roughly 6 to 8 hours earlier, or between 21:30 and 23:30 on Saturday night, based on the relatively severe rigour mortis.
