- The business community of southern port city of Karachi has announced the launch of a new airline in Pakistan.
- According to sources, the upcoming airlines’ name “Air Karachi” has been registered with SECP.
- The new airline is expected to obtain its license in the coming days.
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has officially registered "Air Karachi," according to reports. Former Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Hanif Gohar, confirmed that an application for the airline’s operating license has been submitted to the federal government.
In its initial phase, "Air Karachi" will operate with three leased aircraft. Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Imran, serving as the CEO, will lead the new airline. Prominent business figures, including Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arif Habib, and S.M. Tanveer, will act as shareholders.
Other notable shareholders include Bashir Jan Muhammad, Khalid Tawab, Zubair Tufail, and Hamza Tabani, ensuring substantial backing from Karachi’s business elite.
The airline is expected to receive its operating license in the near future, signaling its readiness to enter Pakistan’s aviation market and offer improved services.
