Financial Advisor Dr.Ruqayya Hashmi has presented the provincial budget of Balochistan for the year 2018-19. The total outlay of 352.3 billion rupees for the fiscal year 2018-19 was tabled in Provincial Assembly in Quetta today.
In terms of Revenue, Balochistan will receive Rs. 290 billion, while Rs. 264.4 billion would be allocated for non-development expenditures. The budget deficit is expected to stand at Rs60 billion, whereas, more than Rs. 88.30 billion allocated for developmental expenditures.
Financial Adviser Ruqayya Hashmi told that 8035 job vacancies would be created in the upcoming budget. 34 billion rupees have been allocated in the budget for maintaining peace and security in the province.
She said the government is trying its level best to improve law and order situation in the province and to provide modern facilities to the law enforcement personnel. She added that 19.4 billion rupees have been allocated for promotion of Health sector, and 8.7 billion rupees for Agriculture sector.
She announced that 10 percent increase has been made in salaries and pensions of provincial government servants in the next fiscal year. Rs. 2 billion have been nominated for the construction of the Cancer hospital, while Rs. 2.52 for the hospital for heart diseases and for the training of teachers and government employees Rs. 1.50 billion have been suggested. Rs. 43.50 billion has been allocated for the schools. Rs. 2 billion have also been allocated in the budget for the minerals.
