Pakistani Artist Mansoor Rahi's Wife Files FIR Against Son

The wife of Pakistani artist Mansoor Ahmed Rahi has reported her son to the police for allegedly stealing paintings of her husband worth more than Rs. 1 billion. Rahi's wife reported the theft to the police on September 19, which is nearly eight months after the incident. The Shalimar police have registered a case under Section 380 of the PPC against Rahi and his friends.

The son and six friends went to the house, and the son took his parents out to dinner, leaving his friends behind, according to the First Information Report (FIR).

When he came back, the son kept his parents busy upstairs, but Ms. Rahi heard sounds coming from the basement. She looked into it and saw that the paintings had been rolled up and taken out of their frames.

In front of Mansoor Rahi's Wife, the son and friends are said to have loaded the artworks into a car.

According to the FIR, "Mansoor Rahi was greatly shocked by the theft, which caused his ill health." According to a police report, artist Mansoor Rahi was horrified to learn about his son's act and became ill.

Eventually, on May 12, Mansoor Rahi died.

In an attempt to recover the stolen paintings and pursue legal action against her son, Ms. Rahi has now filed a formal complaint. The police have initiated proceedings.
