- Heavy rains have caused a severe flood in Bihar, with major rivers like the Kosi.
- The government warns the public to avoid low-lying areas, especially around the rivers.
- Ranjan appealed to residents to stay away from the dam and follow the district administration's high alert.
Rajya Sabha MP and Congress spokesperson Ranjeet Ranjan shared a video showing dozens of panicked people running off a bridge, screaming, as the fast-flowing water of the Kosi River begins to reach it.
"The river is in spate due to the rising water level of the Kosi dam. In this regard, my humble appeal to all the residents of Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Katihar, and Navgachiya is to stay away from the dam and strictly follow the high alert issued by the district administration," he said, advising people to prioritize safety and stay alert as the water levels rise.
