Parts of Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, are bracing for rain and thunderstorms this Thursday and Friday as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports a westerly wave moving across western regions, expected to affect upper and central parts by Friday.
While most districts anticipate partly cloudy weather, cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, and others are warned of dust-raising winds, rain, and thunderstorms.
These weather conditions pose risks to human life, crops, and infrastructure like electric poles and solar panels. Farmers are advised to take precautions accordingly. Additionally, a decrease in temperatures is expected during this wet spell.
Karachi may see maximum temperatures ranging from 36–38 °C on Thursday, slightly dropping to 35–37 °C on Friday. Hyderabad's temperatures are forecast to stay between 40-42°C on Thursday and 39-41°C on Friday.
In the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather has prevailed in Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh.
Nawabshah recorded the province's highest temperature at 42°C, with 72% relative humidity in the evening.
Karachi and Hyderabad recorded maximum temperatures of 36°C and 40°C, respectively, with relative humidity levels of 77% and 72% in the evening.
