ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has announced to fully participate in "Gaza Day" programmes being organised by the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) across the country on October 7.
The both parties reached an agreement for jointly participating in the programmes to express the solidarity with their oppressed Palestinian brothers when PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met JI Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.
On the instruction of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyar Bukhari directed the chief ministers of Sindh and Balochistan to cooperate the JI for their Gaza Day programmes and participate in these ceremonies.
He also instructed the party's provincial organisations and office-bearers to contact the JI leadership.
Meanwhile, JI Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman also contacted Mehmood Khan Achakzai and discussed the situation of Gaza and Lebanon. A JI delegation led by Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will also hold meeting Achakzai, which is expected to take place soon.
Earlier talking to the media, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that 43,000 thousand people have been martyred in Gaza and the war is spreading in the region.
He further said that the responsibility for this disaster will lie with the world powers that are supporting Israel, adding that due to the indifference of Muslim countries, Israel is oppressing openly.
At the time of the establishment of Pakistan, resolutions were passed in favor of Palestine, he recalled, adding that the relationship between religion and humanity is with the Palestinians. “We will celebrate the whole week as Friends of Palestine,” he said.
