Mobile internet services have been disrupted in several cities of Pakistan since last night, causing major inconvenience to users. The suspension was reportedly due to security concerns, affecting daily communication and online activities.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior previously stated that the internet and mobile services would only be restricted in regions with specific security threats, while remaining operational in other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, ahead of PTI’s planned protests, strict security measures have been enforced in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Thirty-three entry points to the twin cities have been blocked with containers, disrupting major routes like Faizabad, IJP Road, Rawat T-Chowk, Mandrah, and Taxila. Additional blockades have been placed on Faizabad Flyover and other key areas, with Kacheri Chowk limited to one-way traffic.

These security measures are in place as PTI prepares for a potential demonstration in Islamabad, leading to significant movement and connectivity disruptions in the affected areas.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi contacted PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar following instructions from the Islamabad High Court. During their discussion, Naqvi emphasized the need to comply with the court’s ruling, stating, “We are bound by the Islamabad High Court’s order. No processions, sit-ins, or rallies can take place under the current circumstances.”
