ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has received more than 72,000 Hajj applications as the deadline for the government scheme approaches.

Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt stated that applications for the Government Hajj Scheme will be accepted at designated banks on Monday and Tuesday, the final two days for submissions.

He also mentioned that applicants have the option to join their relatives' Hajj groups for added convenience.

To apply for the Regular Hajj Scheme, applicants are required to pay an initial deposit of Rs 200,000, followed by a second installment of Rs 400,000 (including additional services) within ten days after the balloting. The final installment must be paid by February 10.

Umar Butt also pointed out that overseas Pakistanis can sponsor Hajj applications for themselves or their relatives, allowing them to participate in the pilgrimage through this scheme.

“This initiative will facilitate applicants while ensuring a smooth and transparent Hajj process,” Umar Butt added, emphasizing the ministry’s efforts to make the Hajj experience more accessible and organized for Pakistani citizens.
