A magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck the Sea of Oman on Sunday, August 18, according to the UAE's National Seismic Network of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The quake, recorded near the coast of Dibba at 12:14 PM UAE time, occurred at a depth of 5 km. Although residents reported feeling the tremors, the NCM confirmed that the earthquake did not have any significant impact on the UAE.

This incident follows a series of minor earthquakes in the region. On June 8, a 2.8 magnitude quake was recorded in Masafi at 11:01 PM.

Earlier, on May 29, two quakes of 3.1 and 2.8 magnitudes were reported near the coast of Ras Al Khaimah. Another minor quake of 1.9 magnitude struck Al Halah in Fujairah on May 17.

Despite these occurrences, the UAE has not experienced any severe effects from these quakes. The NCM continues to monitor seismic activity in the region to keep residents informed and ensure their safety.
