RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered the authorities to release Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid after approving his bail in the May 9 riots case.
On Saturday, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Malik Ejaz Asif heard the case against Sheikh Rasheed related to the May 9 arson and vandalism.
No one appeared in the court on behalf of the prosecution while Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed's lawyers Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan and Sardar Shehbaz appeared in the court.
A bail application was made by Sheikh Rasheed's lawyers, which was granted by the court on a surety bound of Rs 200,000 and the hearing of the case was adjourned till February 12.

Earlier, Independent candidate and former federal minister Daniyal Aziz was arrested from National Assembly Constituency NA-75.
Daniyal Aziz’s wife Mahnaz Akbar Aziz said that a heavy contingent of police arrested Daniyal Aziz from Shakargh.
Daniyal Aziz’s wife accused and said that the worst torture was done on Daniyal Aziz and he was forced into the car, Ahsan Iqbal had a hand in his arrest.
