19-year-old South Korean singer Gaeun has officially quit the K-pop group MADEIN just months after the group’s debut in September.

On November 29, 143 Entertainment confirmed her departure, revealing that the group will continue as a six-member act with Mashiro, MiU, Suhye, Yeseo, Serina, and Nagomi.

The agency stated, “We regret to inform you that member Gaeun will be leaving the team as of today. Since debuting with MADEIN in September, Gaeun has made significant efforts to contribute to the group’s activities. However, due to overlapping personal circumstances, she has found it difficult to continue participating in team activities, leading to her decision to leave the group.”

This announcement follows Gaeun’s temporary hiatus on November 11 due to health issues. Shortly after, she erased all posts from her Instagram and removed references to MADEIN from her profile, fueling rumors of a deeper issue.

Speculation intensified after a report by JTBC’s Crime Chief on November 22, which revealed sexual harassment allegations against the agency’s CEO. Though Gaeun’s name was not initially mentioned, 143 Entertainment firmly denied the allegations, stating, “The rumours about the recent sexual harassment allegations are untrue,” and they “possess clear and substantial evidence to prove the falsity of these claims.”
