Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of late One Direction star Liam Payne, has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of his death. Payne, 31, passed away on October 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Cassidy, who had been staying with Payne in Argentina but flew back to the U.S. before his passing, shared her grief in an interview with The Sun. “It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here,” she said. “I’m trying to be the best I can be, but I feel like my life has changed so much. I think about Liam every second of every day.”

Liam Payne’s girlfriend recalled the moment she received the devastating news: “I feel blessed I didn’t find out over social media… I was in our home with our dog, scrolling TikTok, and one of Liam’s friends called me. That moment, it’s like blank; it’s blacked out in my head.”

Payne’s tragic death has led to charges against five people in Argentina, including manslaughter and drug-related offenses. His funeral in November was attended by Cheryl, his One Direction bandmates, and close family and friends.
